How the ideas and actions of people in the past have had a significant impact on people's lives.

  1. Anti-semitism

What actions did Hitler take because of this idea?

He implemented many laws to disadvantage them, and then eventually killed a lot of them

  2. Dictatorship

What actions did Hitler take because of this idea?

He became the leader of Germany

  3. Superiority of the Aaryan race

What actions did Hitler take because of this idea?

Give everyone a disadvantage, except for the Aaryans, so they would end up a lot better off than others

Children

The actions Hitler took towards them

  1. Hitler took away all youth groups, such as Boy Scouts, and made it mandatory for all children to be part of the Hitler Youth instead.

  2. The Hitler Youth trained the boys to be soliders in war, and it trained girls to be mothers and have children.

The effects of the actions Hitler took towards them

  1. Taking away the groups that the children loved would've made them sad.

  2. Some children didn't want to join the Hitler Youth. The children that didn't join the Hitler Youth got attacked, anihilated, and might possibly die. Their lives were at extreme risk.

  3. When the children died from the Hitler Youth, their friends and families were devastated because they lost a loved one.

  4. Everyone would've been scared of the government because they were killing children and people who didn't do what they were told.

How is this impact significant to them?

People's loved ones died. That's a massive impact on them. They can no longer see, talk, or do things with that person. One death makes people sad forever.

Women

The actions Hitler took towards them

  1. Women were expected to have children and to create a family. So much in fact that if you had 4 or more children you would get a medal (specifically the Cross of Honour of the German Mother)

  2. Women were expected to follow the 3 K's (Kinder, Küche, Kirche) which translates to children, kitchen, church. Which means they were expected to have children, stay at home and care for them.

  3. Hitler gave financial incentives for women who stayed home and had children.

  4. Hitler did not let women work in government because he thinks that they cannot think logically.

The effects of the actions Hitler took towards them

  1. This put pressure on women to have children, and if they didn't have children, people would most likely put them down

  2. Women had to stay home and look after their children, because otherwise they would be financially disincentivised.

  3. As a result of Hitler not letting women work in government, that lowered the amount of jobs that women can have.

How is this impact significant to them?

Women had less jobs, and mostly had to stay inside. This means they can do more with their life than to stay at home with the children, and not go out of the house whatsoever. It's significant to them because they didn't have much freedom.

Jewish people

The actions Hitler took towards them

  1. Hitler killed Jews in concentration camps (death camps)

  2. The Nazis burnt down things that had something to do with Judaism, such as Synagogues and non-German books

  3. Jews had to get a J on their passport so then they were identified in different ways to the rest of the German population

  4. Jews with non-Jewish names were required to add "Israel" to their middle names if they were a boy and "Sara" to their middle names if they were a girl so then they could be more easily identified as a Jew.

The effects of the actions Hitler took towards them

  1. Jews lost their loved ones to death camps and the holocaust.

  2. Jews lost a lot of the stuff that they liked, such as Synagogues and Jewish stores

  3. Jews had to change their name/identity so then they could be easily identified as being a Jew.

How is this impact significant to them?

Jews lost people who they loved and cared for. They also lost the stuff that they cherished. This is extremely significant to them because that's a big part of their life just gone.

Other minorities

The actions Hitler took towards them

  1. Gypsies got deported from the Greater Germany Area to other places that were quite far from Greater Germany, but those places had inadequate food, shelter, fuel, and medicines.

  2. Between 1933 and 1945, gay men and lesbians got persecuted, and 1000's were improsoned in concentration camps

  3. Between 1940 and 1945, 200,000 disabled people got killed.

The effects of the actions Hitler took towards them

  1. Gypsies died in their new homes because of starvation and lack of shelter, fuel, and medicine.

  2. Gay and lesbian people got killed, and 1000's were stuck in concentration camps. THis would've made their familes devastated.

  3. 200,000 disabled people got killed, so millions of people would've been devastated from their loss of a loved one.

How is this impact significant to them?

Many people got seen as inferior to everyone else, and most of them got punished and/or killed.
